Shopify keeps asking you to verify your identity again
Verification was approved, or you uploaded a valid ID, and Shopify asks again. What Shopify says causes failed or repeated verification, and how to stop the loop.

Read the reason first
Shopify says that when a verification upload fails, the upload page shows the reason. Before uploading again, read it and write it down. Uploading the same document again without fixing the reason usually produces the same result, and Shopify limits the number of attempts.
The details have to match exactly
- Shopify asks for a clear color photo of the original document, with all four borders visible and nothing cropped or covered.
- The name, date of birth and address on the account must match the document. Small differences such as a missing middle name, a different address format or an old address are common causes.
- Check which person is being asked for. Shopify says owners, directors or executives may also need verification depending on your region, so the request may not be about you.
- Turn on two-step authentication. Shopify lists it as a reason payouts may be held.
If it was approved and then asked again
Shopify notes that seller health status can lag behind submissions that are still being reviewed, and that not every request appears there, so check your email and admin notifications as well. A new request can also be about a different person or a different document type than the first one. Compare the wording of the old and new requests carefully.
After the maximum number of attempts
Shopify says to contact Support after the maximum number of upload attempts. Contact Support through the Help Center while logged in to your store, and say exactly which document you uploaded, when, and the reason shown each time. Never send ID documents by email or chat; Shopify says those are redacted and cannot be used.
