Shopify Payments disabled for suspected merchant misrepresentation

What Shopify says it looks at
Shopify says risk is monitored continuously using many signals, that it may act before card-network limits are reached, and that chargebacks are not the only signal. One signal it names is product listings that do not match what is delivered. A low chargeback rate therefore does not rule out a review.
Check your store against it, honestly
- Do product titles, photos and descriptions match exactly what customers receive?
- Are delivery times, shipping origin and stock status stated accurately?
- Are refund, return and contact details easy to find and accurate?
- Are your business name and description consistent between your store and your Shopify Payments account?
- Do any products fall under the prohibited or restricted lists in your country's Shopify Payments terms?
Responding
Answer exactly what Shopify asks, with genuine records. If you change your listings, describe the changes accurately; do not hide or remove information to get past a review. If the store itself was restricted, Shopify says an appeal form is reached through the on-screen prompt after you log in, and the decision arrives by email.
If Shopify Payments stays off
Shopify says some legal business models still cannot be supported by Shopify Payments, and that stores that cannot use it can accept payments through a third-party provider. Planning that move early lets you keep selling while any appeal is decided.
